American Antique Red Lily Glass Paperweight

About the Item

A fine antique Midwest American glass red lily paperweight dating from the latter 19th century. The round and tall domed shape paperweight is hand blown in clear glass with very fine sand grain size bubbling through the glass and contains a red central six petal Lily flower with a large central bubble. The flower is set within a varicolored spatter ground with raised peaks. The base has been cut flat with a rough unpolished surface and with a rough central pontil mark. The paper weight is not marked. Provenance: Acquired in the UK Art Market. In good presentable unpolished condition with a few minor surface bruises and with a couple of shallow of shallow surface chips which could be easily polished out.
