About the Item
Fabulous late Galle Cameo vase in brown over yellow cleverly and finely depicting naturalistic winter hydrangea and lightly fire polished- This large and exceptional cameo vase is from the last and arguably the finest period of production of the Galle Factory (the same period as produced such vases as the Elephant vases). This is quite obvious from the exceptional detail and care in production. It is also signed Provost MKVIII only used 1924-36 -see last image for the dating chart.
Emile Galle was probably the greatest glass maker of all time and one of the founding father's of the Art Nouveau movement and beyond
