Rare Richard Ginori Italy Pastorale Landscape White Blue Gold Demitasse

About the Item

Rare Richard Ginori demitasse or espresso cup and saucer set was made of fine semi-translucent porcelain in Italy. It is decorated with traditional landscape done in different shades of blue on white background with gold and light blue rim. Gold laurel garland accents top part of cup's interior and the sides of the saucer. The pattern is usually referred to as Pastorale. Both cup and saucer are marked with green underglaze "Richard Ginori" mark with the crown and "Pittoria Richard Ginori Italy" on gold, the mark that is usually referred to as Pittoria; both marks were in use in second half of 20th century. The cup measures 2.15" high with 2" diameter at the rim, and the saucer - 4.3" in diameter and 0.7" high. The set is in excellent vintage condition.
