About the Item
The Mormon
We are proud to offer a unique hand carved early 20th century figure of a traditional Mormon. Wonderfully carved from a single piece of hard wood, detailing an angel at the base of his feet. The figure would likely have held a stick which has been lost over time. A totally unique carving in this form wearing traditional clothing of the period. Aged original paint still visible detailing a wonderful hat, blue eyes, long wavey hair and Sandals. Its highly likely this figure originally stood in a church or religious setting in America many years ago, recently uncovered in a private collection in the North of England earlier this month.

Condition: This item is completely solid in structure and form, missing a few fingered on its right hand, Natural wood split at its front, scuffed, and worn painted surface and a natural patina across the whole figure.
