American Large Pony Pull Toy Carved Wood, Horsehair Hide and Saddle Circa 1900
About the Item
American Early 20th century large pony pull toy, carved in wood and covered in horse hair hide, with horse hair mane and tail. This delightful pull toy retains his original platform and wheels. With this particular brown and white patterned horsehair coat he is called a Skewbald Pony. His brown glass eyes, red saddle and harness (minor repair), carved and painted wooden nose and teeth, lifted front leg and lovely horsehair coat makes him a handsome pony indeed. This pony is 37" high overall so makes a delightful statement of joy and childhood. There is some wear to one ankle and a small patch of wear on the back, but overall he is in remarkably good condition for his age. Circa 1900.
