Pair of French 19th Century Charles X Period Ormolu Sconces
About the Item
A stunning true pair of French early 19th century Charles X Period ormolu three arm Bras de Lumière sconces. Each high quality sconce displays a beautiful scrolled foliate back plate with an intricately hammered design all in a striking satin and burnished finish. The elegant lightly scrolled supports branch out to the three impressive arms and are adorned with large acanthus leaves. Each arm displays exceptional scrolled shapes, rinceaux designs with richly chased and intricately detailed floral designs, and foliate candle cups. Centered at the back are the exceptional and most decorative pierced lyre shaped back plates with lovely wings leading up each side to the top palmette. All original gilt throughout.
