Chinese Folk Painted Wall Mirror

The painted frame of this wall mirror originally bordered a reverse glass painting, a traditional art that required the artist to paint an image in reverse, beginning with the details. Now enclosing a new mirror, the frame is painted with a delicate, ribbon-like trim and fitted with its original brass rung.
