About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare circa 1900 hand carved wall mirror with Putti angel holding two flickering flame bulbs protected by a dragon A very rare piece, I have never seen another like it, most likely Italian, the Putti is very much is their taste. He is holding as mentioned two flickering flame bulbs, these can be changed for normal bulbs of course however the affect is very nice The plate is the original glass, it has a blue hew to it which leads me to believe it could be mercury plate however I can’t say for sure The electrics have been fully rewired with new light fittings, cables and bulbs We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will go good honest patina marks all over from honest age and genuine use Overall dimensions Height 171cm Width 192cm Depth 31cm Mirror plate alone dimensions Height 68cm Width 121cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
