Chic Mirror-Polished or Powder-Coated Aluminum Room Divider or Screen
By Sight Unseen, Bestcase
Located in Brooklyn, NY
The Song screen by Charles Constantine of Bestcase is a more striking, modern take on the Eames’s iconic 1946 FSW screen. Made from mirror-polished aluminum, it also subverts the idea of traditional folding screens, once adorned with mythological depictions or historical narratives, by mirroring the present rather than reflecting on the past. The screen is fully customizable - panels can be added or taken away, with your choice of finish (a powder coated version of the screen is priced at $4,200).
The Song Screen is part of Sight Unseen's first-ever furniture collection, creative directed by Sight Unseen founders Monica Khemsurov and Jill Singer and produced in collaboration with Bestcase, a Long Island...

Philip & Kelvin Laverne Monumental Custom Architectural Room Divider Screen 1965
By Philip and Kelvin LaVerne
Located in Dallas, TX
This monumental brutalist screen was privately commissioned in 1965 directly from the studios of Philip and Kelvin Laverne for a private residence in New Jersey. The interior of this residence was featured in the New York times as one of the most iconic interiors of the 1960s.
The screen is comprised of 25 vertical rows of 5 elements with a total of 125 panels.
All of the panels were handmade in the Laverne Studios in NY.
Each individual 7x22" panel is unique.
They were created by etching the panels with acid and then using a proprietary applied patina technique to create a distinct design on each one.
This screen mounts to an anodized gold track allowing the panels to be rotated up to 180 degrees to allow for varying amounts of light to pass through. They can also be opened like a curtain.
This extraordinary custom screen...
