Rare and important antique American flame mahogany and cane Empire period recamier or chaise longue, acquired from and made for the Charleston market. This is an extremely rare and fine antique American flame mahogany Empire period chaise longue with a cane seat/bed. Likely made in either Philadelphia or New York in the early 19th century, this piece, with its cane seat, was made for the Charleston market and was part of a Charleston home since the early 20th century (and likely could have been in Charleston since it was made.) Please note exceptional book-matched flame mahogany frame and period circular motifs. It is in magnificent, age-appropriatecondition and offered at a wonderful, discounted price (for a limited time!)

    Wear consistent with age and use. This piece is precidely how it was acquired by us. The mahogany is superior and the caning is all sound with some very slight "looseness" at attachments around the border, but otherwise, great, age-appropriate condition.
