Carlo Bartoli for Rossi di Albizzate, lounge chair model 'Down', fabric, lacquered wood, Italy, 1973 This design truly resembles the ethos of the seventies – a bright and bold era – featuring voluminous shapes and sharp lines. This chair is part of the series 'Down' and finds itself at the intersection of art and furniture design. This design transcends the typical concept of the sofa by embodying artistic elements that refer to the design characteristics of the 70s. The large cushions are based on a round shape, of which the corners point in a sharp movement. The black frame holds the cushions together and is based on a rigid, geometrical shape, underlying the clear structured design. The chair is upholstered in a striped fabric with red tones. A highly unique lounge chair that convinces visually through the well-balanced appearance and the stabile construction. Please note that the item is in good, used condition. The frame has some damages to them. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier.
