19th Century Scottish Turned-Bobbin Rocking Chair

About the Item

19th century Scottish turned-bobbin rocking chair in various woods. Constructed circa 1850-1889 and originates from Scotland, near the Northwest border of England. This type of rocking chair was known as a "kitchen rocker" as it would be found close to the hearth. Note: Regional differences in humidity and climate during shipping may cause antique and vintage wood to shrink and/or split along its grain, veneer to loosen and/or peel, and painted finishes and gilt to crack and flake.
