Vladimir Kagan Corkscrew Swivel Chairs for Directional in Bouclé, Signed

About the Item

Newly reupholstered in a soft and nubby light beige bouclé, these 'Corkscrew' swivel chairs, also often referred to as 'Nautilus', by Vladimir Kagan for Directional, circa 1980s / 90s are signed with Directional labels underneath. These classic Post-Modern club chairs swivel 180 degrees on a circular wooden base. *Note, we have 3 available in this listing, priced individually. The beautiful color of this bouclé is a light beige but in bright room settings can appear closer to off-white in color. It's a beautiful fabric and beautiful color - we've spent a few years trying out different bouclé fabrics and this is by far our favorite that we've found, due to quality, texture and appearance. Noted by Kagan as one of his most popular designs, so popular that in the 1980s and 1990s other companies started to produce the design without his permission. Examples produced by Directional however were the correct authentic examples that he created the design for - so this set of Corkscrew club chairs are great for Kagan collectors as well as interior designers with clients who enjoy authentic and original designs. We also have matching 'Cloud' sofas, also by Vladimir Kagan for Directional and were often paired together with the Corkscrew chairs. Contact us or see our other listings for more details. The curvaceous design of these Vladimir Kagan for Directional Furniture 'Corkscrew' aka Nautilus swivel armchairs make this piece a great conversation starter in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as game chairs, side chairs, dining, cafe or breakfast table chairs, bedside chairs, fireside chairs, dressing or changing room chairs, hallway chairs, entryway or mudroom chairs, nursing or reading chairs, conference room chairs, office or desk guest chairs, lobby lounge chairs or occasional chairs ideal in virtually any setting.
