19th Century Grand Flemish Renaissance Bookcase ~ Display Cabinet
Located in Dallas, TX
19th Century Grand Flemish Renaissance Bookcase ~ Display Cabinet is a magnificent expression of the cabinetmaker's art! Designed to be an impressive statement, it soars over eight feet tall, and features amazingly detailed molding and embellishments from the crown to the base. Underneath the impressive crown molding above appears a tier of elaborate foliate scrollwork in deep full relief completely wrapping the facade, and punctuated on each corner and at the center with fierce lions' heads roaring their approval. Each lion's head appears over a lavish della robia carved pilaster with fruit and foliage depicted with incredible realism, providing a framework for the pair of glazed doors. A colonnade effect enhanced with wheat bordering surrounds the glazing, with the same motif used on the fronts of the shelves within for fine continuity. The tree shelves...

Unique Emiel Veranneman, 1996
By Emiel Veranneman
Located in Meulebeke, BE
Sideboard designed by the Belgian designer Emiel Veranneman produced by Decoene. Made of lacquered wood in gray-blue color with a yellow accent in the door. One-of-a-kind furniture made for the previous owner. "From 1960 Emiel Veranneman began to concentrate his efforts exclusively on furniture creations and interior decorations for clients, an evolution due to a profound dissatisfaction with the prevailing rules of the furniture industry. The result was an impressive series of unique creations with the most important characteristics: harmony, monumental, tension, power and intellectual outflow. One could call Emiel Veranneman's art furniture more radical and stubborn. an art form that is not impressed by the rules of the economy, nor by the fashionable desires of the public, least of all by the promptings of its clients or by artistic trends. All this makes it possible to really call Emiel Veranneman a monument in furniture art. His art stands alone among his contemporaries." (Veranneman, Visie & Passie, p.162-163) Please note that the piece is in good vintage condition with some minor user damage. Comes with the original design drawing...

Mid-Century Modern Walnut Bookcase Cabinet Painted Panels by Hubert Minnebo
Located in Casteren, Noord-Brabant
A long mid century bookcase made of walnut veneer. The cabinet has three aluminum painted panels with fishes. Created and signed and dated (1966) by Hubert Minnebo (Belgium, 1940). The cabinet has 3 doors. Left and right are glass sliding doors. The cabinet has onea key, which fits on all three doors. The condition is good, except for a few missing pieces of wood veneer. The video shows the veneer flaws. The painted panels are made of anodized aluminum. It is a technique that aluminum is anodized, the aluminium panel can absorb aniline color pigments; these are color pigments that are dissolved in acetone or dimethyl formamide. This requires smooth work, comparable to painting a fresco, where correction of errors is not possible. Minnebo also made this panels aluminum panels for reception halls and house facades and as decoration in restaurants and stations. His work is refined with a controlled use of colours. Free shipping for purchase in Europe The oeuvre of sculptor, jewelery designer and graphic artist Hubert Minnebo has been in the spotlight for fifty years. Not in the front row, but also indispensable. Between realism and idealization. Without overestimation, and with an unmistakable noblesse d'âme. This monograph charts Minnebo's remarkable artistic journey and is generously illustrated with photographs of his life and work. Well-known critics and several artists and friends of Minnebo are collaborating: Octave Landuyt...
