Finest Antique English Geo. III Figured Mahogany Chippendale Chest on Chest
About the Item
Quite possibly the FINEST period late 18th century Geo. III mahogany Chest on Chest we have had in our 100 year-old antiques establishment. It evidences perfect proportions top tp bottom. Please note the delightful size. It has a magnificent Georgian colour and it appears remarkably original (save the pierced brass which are antique and perfectly appropriate, but appear to have been changed once in this piece's life. See images provided.) It has a deal (pine) secondary carcass and superbly figured mahogany. This chest on chest has all of the bells and whistles. It has a chamfered front edge, delicately hand carved blind fretted cornice frieze and Greek Key moulded cornice. There are age-appropriate extremely minor repairs and are only mentioned for accuracy. We have many chests on chests in stock and have sold thousands over the years, but this one stands above the rest!
It is likely that we can arrange white glove delivery most anywhere in the Continental US for less than the quote from 1stDibs. That is all dependent on where it is going....
