English Georgian Hepplewhite Mahogany Glazed Top Hanging Corner Cupboard

About the Item

English Georgian Hepplewhite hanging Corner cupboard with glazed door and satinwood stringing and banding. This mahogany corner cabinet has gracefully curved flat glazing bars that are inlaid with delicate satinwood stringing. The intersecting curves of the muntins make for interesting patterns to the door. There is also a satinwood band delimiting the mahogany crossbanding at the top of the cabinet, while ogee mahogany molding delimits the crossbanding on the upper edge. The interior is painted a soft green, but that is probably not original and so could easily be painted another color. There are four shelves on which to arrange items. Measuring corner cabinets can be confusing, but the critical measurement is the side measurement, in this case 20 1/2 inches from the corner to the leading edge at the bottom. The ogee molding at the top projects further and that measurement is 21 1/2" from the corner to the outside edge of the molding.
