Small Scale Mid-19th Century French Louis XVI Style Mahogany Vitrine, Bookcase
About the Item
With glass on three sides, this French Louis XVI style mahogany vitrine from the mid nineteenth century is ideal for displaying any fine collection. Resting on turned finial feet detailed in bronze, this piece also features bronze detailing around the glass panes and edges of the cabinet. Bronze plaques in the apron are detailed with scrolling leaves, and a classic pierced bronze gallery surrounds its white marble top. The single door, with its original hand blown glass, opens to reveal an interior with three glass shelves. The back of the interior is fitted with a mirror to allow a collection to be viewed from all angles. An absolutely beautiful display cabinet with a 26.5-inch width and 15.5-inch depth conducive to small-scale living. Includes one key with functioning lock, circa 1860.
