18th Century French Louis XIII Carved Walnut Armoire Bonnetiere from Perigord
About the Item
This large, elegant antique "bonnetiere" (one-door armoire) would make a beautiful addition to any living room or bedroom! Crafted in the Perigord region of France circa 1750, the single door fruitwood cabinet sits on bun feet over a straight bottom plinth; it features diamond shape geometric decor on the facade and both sides, flanked with a pair of barley twist columns in each corner. The top removable crown is wide and thick, and the bottom is dressed with a large drawer with the original forged iron handle. The Louis XIII cabinet is in very good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Original large lock and monumental key included!
