18th Century French Louis XIII Walnut Two-Door Armoire from the Loire Valley

About the Item

This grand, monumental armoire is derived from the chateaux region of the Loire Valley of France. The region includes notable palaces including Chamborg, Chenonceau, Chevergny, Azay le Rideau, etc. Carved, circa 1760, this fruitwood wardrobe is huge in size, over 10 feet tall and features Classic, straight lines throughout. The armoire standing on bun feet is topped with a large crown, two doors which reveal multiple inside shelves for storage and embellished with the original lock, key and cremaillere. The bottom is decorated with a large drawer across the front with the original forged iron pulls this is truly a museum quality piece, and is in excellent condition with original rich walnut patina! Place this important armoire in a bedroom or living room, the options are endless. Measures: 75" W x 29" D x 124" H.
