Italian Mid-Century Sideboard by Paolo Buffa, 1950s
Located in Traversetolo, IT
In the 1950s, Paolo Buffa designed this stylish Italian mid-century sideboard. There is a great deal of elegance in this piece. The sinuous lines of the sides and the refined combination of different shades of wood make this piece special. It's also noteworthy that the brass parts were cast in lost wax (it almost appears that they were made by a goldsmith). Very well-kept conditions, completely restored, ready to use. The large sideboard, the dining table, and the chairs are also available, currently undergoing restoration. Literature "I mobili di Paolo...

19th C. Stripped Oak and Chestnut Diamond Point Armoire from Brittany France
Located in Dallas, TX
This unique armoire was hand-carved from oak and chestnut wood in Brittany, France, during the 1800’s. Carved in the Louis XIII style (notice the geometric shaped moldings), the two motifs on the doors make this a rare find, as typically ebenistes would only incorporate one type of ornamentation. The armoire is also quite a bit shorter in height than the typical French offering, making this an ideal storage piece for those with lower ceilings. Assembled using round dowel construction, the armoire utilizes both oak and chestnut, the latter being a less commonly used wood in case storage pieces. The molded crown with a repeating crenellated carving overhangs the body quite a bit, giving the armoire a bigger presence than its height affords (the armoire is only 70 inches tall). Both sides are linear with clean lines, being comprised of three recessed rectangular panels. The rectilinear nature of the armoire is softened by the protruding carvings on the three panels that make up each door: two diamond point motifs separated by a four sided pointe de gateau, or cake slice. Behind the doors that open on iron hinges, are two shelves. Four block feet support the armoire beneath straight lined aprons. Our oak and chestnut diamond point armoire has been stripped of its original finish, resulting in a warm, golden appearance. It can be considered “country French”, and it is quite easy to place because of its size and color. The diminutive Brittany armoire...
