Oval Desk Consolle Table in the style of Giotto Stoppino, Tubular Steel & Wood

About the Item

A unique piece of furniture with an elegant and fine design, believe me when I tell you that at the moment there is no other similar one on sale online. Dating between the 60s and 70s, this console table winks at the design of the 30s, in particular, the use of curved steel tubing to create the legs, and the rounded wooden top, recall the pieces created during the wave of the Bauhaus artistic avant-garde. This piece is multipurpose. Its dimensions and shape allow it to be used both as a console table, perhaps in an entrance or in a living room but also as a desk thanks to the space between the two curved steel tubes, 71.5cm high, in which it can be comfortably accommodated your legs once seated. The oval top of this Mid-20th century Writing Desk is of high quality, 6cm thick and decorated with a modernist motif created with the marquetery technique using segments and slabs of mahogany veneer and another essence stained with ebony colour. The inlay decoration includes two "rays" created by segments on the rounded ends of the top, which connect to the heart of the top, thanks to the geometric decoration also created with veneer, consisting of 2 points and an ebony colored line. This Vintage Consolle Table was purchased in Italy, we have no documentation that reveals the paternity of the project but in terms of design and materials used it is very reminiscent of the works of Giotto Stoppino for the historic Bernini company of the mid-20th century. The console desk has been totally restored by our trustworthy restorer, the top polished with a specific product as well as the steel tubing, but there are still minimal signs of aging.
