Named after the first prize it won at the Fiera di Trieste in 1961, the "Trieste" chair showcases its innovative and lightweight construction, paralleling Gio Ponti's famed Superleggera chair. It demonstrates a revolutionary use of lightweight wood and intricate craftsmanship, with solid mahogany construction and unique open dovetail joins in lamellar wood that effortlessly connects the legs and backrest together without the use of screws. These split joinery details, visible at each joint, add a unique design element, making each chair a statement piece. These chairs were produced in limited quantities, further enhancing their exclusivity and appeal to collectors and design enthusiasts alike. The set of six dining armchairs are in very good vintage condition, having been carefully refinished / restored by the previous owner.
