Antique George III Side Table circa 1760 Very Heavy Hardwood Chippendale Carved

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptional George III solid mahogany with original brass fittings single drawer side table with Thomas Chippendale style carvings This piece is sublime, it weighs around twice what it looks like it should, it is very heavy timber. The beauty is in the detail, the fret work carving to the arches is exquisite, the hardware original, there is a double bevelled edge around the top which is recessed in the corners, again very much a Chippendale trait. This piece is very fine quality indeed Condition wise the finish and patina are honest and original, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there as you would expect, there are old repairs in various places, marks to the top and so on. I can have this fully restored by my polishers for the cost price should the new owners wish Dimensions Height:- 70.5cm Width:- 71.5cm Depth:- 40.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
