Robert Cleminson 19th Century Landscape Oil Painting with Horse and Dogs
About the Item
19th century English oil painting by Robert Cleminson. This highland scene from British painter Robert Cleminson (1864-1903) features a landscape scene with a horse and three dogs. The focal point of this 19th century oil on canvas is the horse, which carries a wicker basket on his flank. Three dogs are peacefully resting in front of the horse, with a lovely eye exchange between the horse and one of the dogs, drawing our eye through the scene. Slightly behind the dogs is a water trough, while in the background are depicted hills. This English 19th century painting is surrounded by a giltwood frame, adorned with floral motifs.
