Studio Greytak 'Ammolite Cuff on Pyrite' Fire Opal, Tourmaline, Citrine & Jasper

About the Item

Ammolite Cuff on Pyrite Studio Greytak’s Ammolite Cuff on Pyrite is a controlled burn. Fire plays across the iridescent surface of ammolite, contained in bands of cool silver, and intensifies in the brilliant orange fire opal beside it. Bumblebee jasper, the product of a live volcano on the Indonesian island of Java, angles toward the ammolite, heat drawn to heat. Golden citrine, the light maker, and green vesuvianite, born of another fiery eruption, break away like rising sparks. Below, the precise angles and edges of octahedral pyrite throw light in all directions. Citrine and ammolite appear in the base as well, lighting up the ever-joyful tourmaline. Opal-like and iridescent, ammolites were formed when the fossils of ancient cephalopods from prehistoric inland tropical seas, combined with aragonite and turned into gemstones. Reminiscent of the golden spiral, a key part of sacred geometry, ammolites are said to hold the energies and vibrations of the universe. They bring personal awakening, prosperity, and luck. The fire opals in this cuff came from a small family mine in Mexico. Considered the stone of fervent love and strength, fire opal was long believed to have originated in the waters of paradise. Legend has it that if someone offers a fire opal to one they love, that person will soon return their affection. Fire opals produce good vibrations, stimulate sexuality, and strengthen the immune system. In AD 79, Mount Vesuvius erupted, completely entombing two Roman cities in nearly 100 feet of ash and debris. Within deposits of limestone displaced in the upheaval, a delicate green gem grew. First discovered in the late 18th century, geologists named it vesuvianite for its proximity to the volcano. From its turbulent past comes the ability to shore up shaken spiritual foundations. Vesuvianite allows one to make peace with impermanence in life and find the strength to pursue one’s own path even in the face of change. Called the light maker for its sunny color and its ability to clear the mind and spark imagination, citrine can be identified by its smooth, rounded edges curved and softened as if gently worn by stream water. It is sought after for its ability to absorb negative energies from the environment and to bring wealth and prosperity. Bumblebee jasper is not actually part of the jasper family because it doesn’t contain any quartz. Its name derives, of course, from its resemblance to the industrious insect and because, like jasper, it is a compound of multiple minerals. The metaphysical properties of each mineral blend to form a stone that will increase one’s zest for life and provide the motivation to make positive changes. Carry a piece of bumblebee jasper to enhance productivity or make real strides toward a significant goal. Beneath this beautiful cuff, at the top of the base, ammolite and citrine shine beside a colorful piece of tourmaline. Ancient Egyptians believed that tourmaline broke through a rainbow as it emerged from the earth, splitting into gems of all shades. It brings a compelling, magnetic, and playful energy. Healers classify tourmaline as a receptive stone, meaning it promotes self-reflection as well as connection with others. Collect tourmaline in all its various forms and experience the full range of healing and joy it will manifest. At the center of the base, shining octahedral pyrite looks as if aflame. Taking its name from the Greek pyrites, meaning “of fire,” pyrite sparks when struck against metal or stone. Once considered magic by ancient cultures, pyrite increases vitality, enhances willpower, and aids in overcoming fear and anxiety. A creative stimulant, it feeds the qualities of ambition, commitment, and persistence. This piece brings an intense passion. Wear it for creative vitality, super focus, and outstanding fortune. The bracelet on this piece will fit a medium to large wrist. The inside circumference is 5.75". The opening is 1.5". Materials Ammolite Silver Fire Opal Bumblebee Jasper Citrine Vesuvianite Tourmaline Pyrite.
