Art Deco Buddha Sureté Pin

About the Item

An Art Deco Buddha sureté pin, set with a fine blue pâte de verre Buddha, resting upon a diamond and green pâte de verre pedestal, with a platinum crown, all to a platinum mount and stick pin, with rose-cut diamond-set pin, circa 1920, the jewelled part measuring approximately 2.6cm long and 1.4cm wide, the pin measuring approximately 7.3cm, gross weight 5.7 grams. This fine Art Deco Buddha stick pin comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It features a royal blue pâte de verre Chinese Buddha resting on a seat of green blue pâte de verre and diamonds. Pâte de verre is a pressed glass popularly used in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. Further diamonds are set in the lotus motif crown that surrounds the head of the Buddha. This colourful piece reflects the Eastern influences on Art Deco design: it is charming and bright and would be the perfect addition to a jacket lapel.
