  • Norwegian-Norway Nils og Blåmann Brooch - Silver 830 Shepherd Antique Norway Pin
    Located in Greensboro, NC
Add to your collection with this beautiful vintage brooch! Crafted in Norway, this piece is fashioned in 830S grade silver and measures a generous 2 ½ inches in diameter. The image showcased in the center of the brooch is an image of the Norwegian character Nils Og Blamann. Dressed for a summer trek, he is wearing a vest over a long-sleeved shirt and cut-off breeches. A traditional hat is tilted over his shoulder-length locks, and he is carrying an alphorn and a knapsack. Posed with one bare foot up on a ledge and the other on the ground, Nils Og Blamann is shown with a hand up to his brow as if he is scanning the hills ahead. He is accompanied by a long-horned chamois goat whose magnificent body is beautifully detailed in textured sterling silver. The open cut-work background gives the images a wonderful 3-D effect. Adding lovely visual interest, an ornate frame formed from swirls and flourishes of sterling silver encircles the brooch. The brooch fastens from the back with a long bar and hook clasp. The back of the brooch contains a 830 S stamp that verifies the silver composition. This piece is in great condition and has not been polished in order to preserve its valued vintage...
