About the Item
An Edwardian amethyst, diamond and pearl fringe necklace, consisting of seven bars graduating from the centre, five bars each set with two old European-cut diamonds and two amethysts, the two smaller bars each set with two amethysts, all bars suspended from a gold chain set with six oval amethysts and the bars connected with gold chain swags embellished with seed pearls, the diamonds estimated to weigh approximately ¾ carat in total, mounted in silver and rose gold, to cylindrical clasp, marked 15ct gold, circa 1905, measuring 3.5 x 39cm, gross weight 12.7 grams.
This antique necklace is in very good condition for its age.
This elegant amethyst and pearl swag necklace come from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This swagged design features vivid Amethysts and shimmering pearls which make it a stunning and feminine piece. The layered design accentuates and compliments the neckline making it an elegant touch to an evening gown.
