About the Item

One of our favorite designs -- Eytan Brandes' gorgeous two-part slider pendant -- is now presented in 18 karat white gold and paired with a gorgeous, silky Tahitian pearl. The pearl is from George Hajjar, owner of Seven Seas Pearls, based in Los Angeles and Japan. Mr. Hajjar only deals with Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian pearls -- no freshwater, nothing from China. He buys directly from the pearl farms so we always know we're getting the real thing. This particular real thing is an exquisite silvery green with so much purple overtone that it's practically an undertone! This pearl is baroque with a graceful drop shape. It's just over 13.5mm in diameter and approximately 16mm long. It has a nice circle near the top (under the leaves of the cap) but is minimally flawed otherwise, with just a few light pits (not discolored) in the skin. This is a beautiful pearl of exceptional quality. The pendant, in polished 18 karat white gold, is set in the front with a nice 0.06 carat natural, earth-mined and untreated white diamond. Our supplier rates it G-H color and VS1-2 clarity. The bale is nice and big, giving you lots of chain options. But we think it looks best with something substantial, so we are including a 16" necklace of 4mm purple Mozambique rubies made just for this pendant. The unusual purple shade might not be what you'd want for a ruby on your finger, but we couldn't find any other gemstone with a color that complemented the pearl nearly as well, and since the stones are rubies (albeit bead-quality rubies), they have surprising sparkle and feel great against the skin. Strung on silk with a 14 karat white gold pearl clasp.
