Antique Scottish Quaich or Drinking Bowl by Robert Sawers

A fine Scottish quaich. In sterling silver. Smithed by Robert Sawers of Edinburgh in 1901. The quaich is a 2-handed drinking cup or bowl that was traditionally used to drink whiskey or brandy. Simply a wonderful piece of Scottish silver! Date: 1901 Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: The quaich is slightly out of round with an indentation to the rim, some light edge wear, and some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Robert Sawers Marks: Hallmarked to the side for RS for the maker, thistle for Scotland, castles for Edinburgh, and E for 1910. Measurements: Diameter: ca. 5 1/2 in. Height: ca. 1 1/4 in.
