Antique 18th Century Georgian English Sterling Silver Salver Dated 1740

A fine 18th century Georgian sterling silver salver. Supported by tab feet with a shaped top. With engraved decoration including a shield shaped cartouche at its center with a monogram. Simply a great Georgian style silver salver! Date: 1740 Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with some very light dings and indentations here and there, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Engraved: Monogrammed 'F.B.' cartouche to the center. Marks: Marked to the base with a maker's mark, lion passant for sterling, crowned leopard for London, and an e for 1740. Measurements: Width: ca. 7 1/4 in. Depth: ca. 5 3/4 in. Height: ca. 1 in. Weight: ca. 193 g Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. This exceptional piece features a smooth polished finish and four places to rest a cigarette or cigar. The ashtray's center tray is approximately 4 3/4" in diameter (not including the rests). The ashtray is around 5 3/4" in length from rest to rest. The height of the tray is approximately 1/2" at the highest point of the tray.
