Painting of New York Storm Rain on 42nd Street by Leading British Urban Artist
By Angela Wakefield
Located in Preston, GB
A high quality hand-signed limited edition print entitled 'New York Storm' on 42nd Street with the Chrysler Building by Leading British Urban Landscape Artist, Angela Wakefield. Part of her New York Series. The character of New York’s skyline and large residential districts is often defined by the skyscrapers, street scenes and elegant brownstone row houses, town houses, and shabby tenements that were built during a period of rapid expansion at the end of the 19th century. Angela has now produced over 100 paintings of New York City in her New York Series. “New York City’s five boroughs are home to some of the world’s most recognisable, cherished landmarks and attractions. Angela’s painting style perfectly encapsulates the mood of New York.” Angela Wakefield (Born 1978) has twice been on the front cover of ‘Art of England’ and featured in ARTnews – the most widely read art magazine in the world. Angela has attracted international attention with her urban landscape paintings of New York, London & the North of England. The style of painting has been described as ‘contemporary realism’, and she is often favourably compared with Edward Hopper by collectors and art critics. Her work is held in private collections in Europe and the USA, and has been exhibited in London and across the United Kingdom. Angela's admirers include leading figures in international business, filmmaking and the media. Angela studied at UCLan in the UK, gaining a BA(Hons) in Fine Art. Working with acrylic paint on canvas or board, she is mainly associated with cityscapes and city street scenes, incorporating figurative elements of the landscape, architecture, transportation and the human figure. Angela Wakefield has undertaken several high-profile commissions: She was commissioned by the University of York to paint the high profile £800,000 renovation project 'Greg's Place', kindly funded by Greg Dyke, the former Chancellor of the University, FA Boss & Director General of the BBC. Angela was also commissioned by Stonyhurst College to paint the world-famous Grade 1 listed building. (Former Alumni inching JRR Tolkien...

To see our other views of Oxford and Cambridge, scroll down to "More from this Seller" and below it click on "See all from this seller" - or send us a message if you cannot find the view you want. David Loggan (1634 - 1692) The University of Oxford Botanic Garden (1675) Engraving 40 x 50 cm An eighteenth-century view of one of Oxford's dreamiest spaces: the Botanic Garden, engraved by David Loggan, the noted engraver, draughtsman, and painter. The University of Oxford Botanic Garden was founded in 1621 and is the oldest botanical garden in Great Britain. Loggan's engraving focuses on its architectural qualities, with four features of the garden highlighted for their beauty, symmetry, and prowess of design. Of particular interest in this etching are the six trompe l'oeil pieces: four gently curling pieces of paper which frame the gates of the garden, and two heraldic banners borne by cherubs and sporting legends about the garden's foundation. The Danby Gate (bottom left) at the front entrance to the garden is one of the three entrances designed by Nicholas Stone...

City of Surprises, Cityscape Art, Contemporary Minimalist London Art, Line Art
By Michael Wallner
Located in Deddington, GB
City of Surprises is created from an original photograph taken from Greenwich Park. It features one of my favourite views of the London skyline - boasting some of the city’s most famous landmarks in a single line with one small difference - for legal reasons. The London Eye, Shard, BT Tower, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Cheesegrater are all there, alongside one building that I’ve been asked not to feature in my work by its lawyers. Can you spot it? I love the shapes of the view’s outline so I have replaced the building that shall not be named with the head of shark. The ‘new’ London skyline is then laser-cut into gold mirror. City of Surprises is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 3 weeks. Michael Wallner has artworks for sale online and in our gallery with Wychwood Art. Michael has spent more than twenty years in the media industry working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. But creating original and innovative art is his true passion. His latest work celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes, outlines and colours that define its character. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in Michael’s portfolio. The art is created by digitally manipulating and colouring his own photographs to produce unusual prints on aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, even 1930’s copper-lite windows. He also creates neon, magnetic, and L.E.D installations. The metal pieces are printed on very thin sheets of brushed aluminium, giving the work an etched appearance. Michael works out of his studio at Wimbledon Art...

Beach Boats, Norfolk Seascape Art, Linocut Prints of England, Seaside Art
By Rob Barnes
Located in Deddington, GB
Beach Boats [2022] limited_edition Linocut print Edition number 50 Image size: H:33 cm x W:45 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:49 cm x W:61 cm x D:0.2cm Sold Unframed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look Clinker-built boats have always been a fascination of mine. I love their lines and shapes at low tide. These I came across on a coastal walk in Suffolk. The sun was setting and I tried to capture the effect of light on water. Rob Barnes, artist, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. Rob Barnes studied painting and printmaking at Hull College of Art and London University in the early 1960s. He taught etching, screen-printing, lino and related surface printmaking at Keswick Hall College in Norfolk. He later moved to the University of East Anglia, Norwich where he continued teaching in the School of Education until 2006. Presently he divides his time between printmaking and his other passion, playing the violin in local orchestras and for choral performances. In 2017 he began making a small number of sterling silver jewellery pieces following a course at West Dean, Sussex. His artwork follows themes, such as light on water, or shadows in the landscape. Linocuts are hand-printed on an Albion press...

Sutton Nichols (1668 - 1729) Map of Cambridgeshire Engraving 43 x 36 cm Signed in plate lower left. A beautifully coloured 18th century map engraving of Cambridgeshire. The map was produced by Robert Morden for publication in Edward Gibson's 1695 translation of William Camden's Britannia, a topographical and historical survey of Great Britain and Ireland produced to "restore antiquity to Britaine, and Britain to his antiquity" - a most noble aim. William Camden (1551 - 1623) was an English antiquarian, historian, topographer, and herald, best known as the author of Britannia, the first chorographical survey of the islands of Great Britain and Ireland, and the Annales, the first detailed historical account of the Queen...

Above and Beyond, London Landscape, blue and silver aluminium art
By Michael Wallner
Located in Deddington, GB
Above and Beyond [2015] limited_edition Brushed aluminium Edition number 25 Image size: H:58 cm x W:88 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:58 cm x W:88 cm x D:0.3cm Sold Unframed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look Michael Wallner - Above and Beyond, 2016, print on brushed aluminium. Limited edition of 25 (11 remain). Aerial view of London, stretching from the South Bank as far as Kent in the distance. I am always looking for great views of London, views that best illustrate the beautiful lines and shapes that make it such an iconic city. To achieve this view I hung out of a helicopter with the doors taken off. It was worth the extra heartbeats. The image is then digitally manipulated to trace the outlines of the buildings, coloured on a graphics tablet, and printed directly onto brushed aluminium. This gives the piece an etched effect. A smart aluminium frame on the back makes it very easy to hang. The piece is also available in a larger size: 104 x 152 cm. Please note, this piece is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. Michael Wallner has original artworks for sale with Wychwood Art both in their art gallery and online.
