Bill Kane ist ein amerikanischer Multimediakünstler, der in seinen Arbeiten die Grenzen zwischen Fotografie, Malerei und Druckgrafik überschreitet und die Idee dessen untersucht, was ein Bild ist und sein kann. Seine Arbeiten sind in zahlreichen institutionellen Sammlungen vertreten, darunter das San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, das de Young Museum, das Carnegie Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, das Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento und das Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, Deutschland.
