Imagine standing on a hillside in the late afternoon. The air is dry and golden, heavy with the scent of earth and wheat. In the far distance, the land rolls out endlessly — soft fields, stone walls, and distant hills fading into a pale blue haze. There is no single focal point, only the feeling of distance, of time stretching and pausing at once.
The artist paints with a restrained yet luminous hand: ochres and honey yellows melt into olive greens, while streaks of blue mark irrigation lines or shadows where the land dips. The sky, vast and fluid, shifts from a serene azure at the top to a veil of dusty cream near the horizon. Every brushstroke feels like a breath — light, intuitive, alive.
What you feel here is stillness infused with life. There are no figures, no villages, only the hum of existence — the murmur of wind, the shimmer of heat, the whisper of soil beneath the sun. The painting invites you not to see Ávila, but to inhabit it — to sense its calm, its patience, its sacred emptiness.

Gloria Sáez
Gloria Sáez ist eine in Avila, Spanien, ansässige zeitgenössische Ölmalerin und Pädagogin, deren Gemälde von den Landschaften der Natur, Farbbeziehungen, Reflexionen und dem Spiel der Texturen inspiriert sind.
Sáez begann ihre Ausbildung an der Schule der Schönen Künste in Avila, Spanien, und schloss später ihr Studium der Malerei, Bildhauerei und Druckgrafik an der Universität von Salamanca mit Auszeichnung ab. Sie erhielt ein Sócrates-Erasmus-Stipendium für ein Studium an der Escola Superior de Tecnología, Gestáo in Portugal. Im Jahr 2003 wurde Sáez Ehrenprofessor und Mitarbeiter an der Fakultät für Schöne Künste der Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Sie hatte Ausstellungen in ganz Europa, Afrika und den Vereinigten Staaten.
