Rosedale, Austin
Interior design studio Stelly Selway unveils the renovation of a 1940s central Austin home, leaning into the multidisciplinary creative practices and local arts communities of its homeowners.
Tasked with bringing light and optimized flow into the dated residence, the designers honored both the practices and the porous work-life style of their clients, while engaging a participatory process for some of the most striking new features.
The 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath establishes contrasts between rest and entertainment – priority needs for the clients, a
functional sculpture artist, and a florist, respectively. While nook-spaces and a refreshed studio space offer solitude, ample kitchen and dining areas invite connection and satisfy the clients’ desire for the house to “feel like an open invitation.”
