French or German Low grade Rose Gold ( 7 - 9K ) and Silver dress Ring set with with eight- pointed domed star openwork crown decorated with tiered rows of fine Diamonds set in Silver Clusters.. This ring is an exceptionally rare piece and dates to ca. second half of the 18th century. The design is extremely opulent with two separate tiers of hand set Diamonds cascading in rows from a central flower ornament down to diamond set shoulders. All stones of the crown have closed backs. Note the openwork pattern on the back side of the crown and carved band. Special bezeled type of cluster settings that hold the larger and central stones are typical for late 18 century jewel - setting conventions. The crown measures Ø 23 mm x 14 mm deep. 75 natural White (with minor inclusions ) rose cut Diamonds with diameters ranging 1 mm - 3 mm with a total carat weight of approximately 2.75 ctw. Weight : 13.58 gr Size Ø US 5.75. Can be sized for additional payment. Fine used condition.
