Published in L’Horticulteur Français A rare and richly colored antique botanical lithograph depicting six varieties of pelargoniums, including the boldly patterned “Capitaine Lechaix,” from the prestigious L’Horticulteur Français journal, dated 1856. Drawn by botanical illustrator Annica Bricogne and printed in Paris by N. Rémond, this original hand-colored plate captures the vivid hues and delicate veining of Victorian-era hybrid pelargoniums. Each blossom is depicted with striking realism, showcasing the floricultural beauty prized by 19th-century horticultural enthusiasts. Date: 1851 Origin: France Dimensions (sheet): Approx. 10.5 x 6.75 inches (27 x 17 cm) Condition: Very good antique condition with minor foxing typical of the period. Unframed.
