Manhattan Beach Residence

Created to be a family friendly retreat within the beach community of Manhattan Beach. The house is created with a series of view spaces borrowing from the Japanese concept o f Tokonoma (an area where items for artistic appreciation are displayed) and Tsuboniwa (petit garden) that now only create openness within the home, but also create connection to the exterior by creating foreground to the outdoor spaces for gathering.
