Modernist Detroit Table Sculpture Wood Collage Box Assemblage Americordo Copper
Located in Surfside, FL
Copper and wood box. "Americordo #7" is composed of copper tiles inlaid to the bottom half of the box and on the top rests a patinated etched copper or bronze circle. The box when closed measures to be 17" Sq. x 3.5" H. David Barr (1939-2015) is an American sculptor and painter from Detroit, MI. Known for constructivist sculpture, architecture and surrealist, assemblage box sculpture collage works. Born in 1939, Barr is an internationally known artists and has created many installations in natural settings. Vault took over a year to complete. His sculptures represent mathematics, geography and structurist nature, and otherwise known as "geo-structures." This one is kinetic and can be moved around. Barr is a graduate of Wayne State University and recipient of the WSU Distinguished Alumni Award. Influenced by sculptor Charles Biederman. In 1995 he founded the Michigan Legacy Art Park, and has pieces at the Chrysler World Headquarters, Flint's Bishop Airport, the Detroit Zoo, the State of Michigan Historical Museum and the Meadowbrook Festival Grounds Barr earned a master’s of fine arts degree from Wayne State University and was an associate professor of sculpture at Macomb Community College in Warren for 37 years. He worked on perhaps the largest sculpture in the world, the Four Corners Project, with installations at Greenland, Africa, Irian Jaya (New Guinea) and Easter Island. His sculptures are located all over the state of Michigan, but perhaps his most recognizable is Transcending, a blend of bronze, steel and granite that acknowledges the contributions of Detroit’s laborers and skilled tradespeople. David Barr is the founder of Michigan Legacy Art Park. David’s career as an artist, instructor, author and global thinker has crossed borders around the world, bringing people and ideas together. Over fifty years as a sculptor, David created a body of work that includes hundreds of wall-hanging structurist reliefs, sculptures for public spaces (such as Transcending in Hart Plaza, Detroit done with Sergio De Giusti), works for private collections, massive global projects (such as The Four Corners Project) and Michigan Legacy Art Park. David’s studio was in Detroit for fifteen years until he realized he needed nature as a source of inspiration. In 1977 he bought 4 acres of land in rural Oakland County (now Novi) and in 1979 built his home, a contemporary structure that has become the centerpiece of his own art park. His work is included in the collection of outdoor sculptures at The Dennos Museum Center along with Clement Meadmore, Hanna Stiebel...

"Sexy", Framed, Contemporary, Oil, Portrait, Painting, on Copper
Located in St. Louis, MO
Jed Jackson was born in Fayette, Arkansas. Throughout his education, he studied under artists such as Janet Fish, Fairfield Porter, and Leland Bell, and reaps influence from the “gritty realism” of artists such as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Jacques Louis David, and early Edgar Degas, and the work of his contemporaries including John Currin and David Salle. Jackson is currently the Chairman of the Art Department at University of Memphis in Tennessee and is the author of the book “Art: A Comparative Study.” Jackson’s paintings are modern mythological allegories, rich with subtle innuendos, political dissent, and emotional ambiguity. Gleaning inspiration from fashion magazines, movies, the literary world, and a plethora of other twentieth century cultural sources, Jackson incorporates these images and ideas with a keen sense of color to create paintings that are simultaneously rich in content and aesthetically dynamic. A 17th Century Mythological Scene
Located in Stockholm, SE
This small yet captivating painting, crafted on a copper plate, dates back to the mid-1600s and was created by a Flemish artist. Subject Matter: The central figure in the artwork is Mercury, easily identified by his symbolic attributes like winged sandals, petasus, and caduceus. Beside him is a likely female figure, characterized by her attire and absence of weaponry. The depicted scene could represent two mythological tales: Mercury and Calypso: This interpretation suggests the artwork shows the moment Zeus sends Mercury to Calypso's island, Ogygia. Mercury is there to order Calypso to release Ulysses, whom she saved from a shipwreck but kept captive. The lush, wooded background and the three distant figures could hint at Ulysses' farewell to Calypso. Mercury and Herses: Another interpretation could be a scene from the love story of Mercury and Herses. The background figures might symbolize the sisters returning from a procession, while the forefront could be the initial meeting between Mercury and the most beautiful sister, Erse. Artistic Inspiration: The painting's landscape and setting are heavily influenced by the early 17th century Northern European art trends, especially the works of Jan Brueghel the Elder. However, the artwork stands apart with its unique luminescence in detailing and a distinctive approach to depicting figures. While the exact origin and artist remain somewhat mysterious, the style and treatment of light hint towards works close to Josse de Momper...

Original-Sunlit-Spring in Autumn Abstract-Expression-Gold Leaf-UK Awarded Artist
Located in London, GB
Artist's Lifetime Warranty. --This stunning painting is a part of The 'Sunlit' series -an exploration of the colour yellow and its healing effect to the ones who were impacted by grief. This is one of Shizico Yi's personal favourites for its subtle changing of the golden tones when viewing in different time of the day. The pictorial language in this series pays homage to Japanese Woodblock prints. In her latest series, titled 'Prayers,' Shizico employs various type of Dahlias as symbols of peace. Dahlias, which bloom in autumn, brighten up the garden amidst the early winter chill, symbolizing regeneration and hope for life. The name of the painting is a reference to a poem by Du Fu (712-770 AD), one of his poignant poems that portrays the landscape in his hometown. After nature reclaims the places where people once lived. Through these paintings in Prayer series, Shizico aims to convey her heartfelt prayers in times we live. It's also a form of self-reflection on the role of the artist in society. *Royal Mail Delivery Worldwide, guarantee with End to End International Tracking.
