Blue Aesthetic Porcelain Vase Attributed in the Style of Christopher Dresser
About the Item
Elegant and refined small Japanese-style porcelain vase. Aesthetic Movement piece with a blue background and colorful geometric patterns typical of Christopher Dresser's designs enhanced with small stars all over the vase.
It is decorated with two small gilded slip snails on each side of the body and a gilded snake around the base.
A delicate network of cracking on the glaze characteristic of many wares of 19th century Aesthetic Movement pieces, imitating some of the Japanese pottery pieces.
Attributed to Christopher Dresser thanks to very close designs made for Minton with these kinds of colors and patterns with the same porcelain quality circa 1870.
