"Galerie" Low Floor Lamp Designed by Federico Peri for Fontana Arte

About the Item

"Galerie" is a low floor lamp perfect for reading, designed by Federico Peri and manufactured by Fontana Arte, made in glass, metal and marble and is part of a collection including two floor and one wall lamps. It can be provided with a dimmer and lighting source is 4W LED (2700K, CRI>80, Lumen 600). Base and wall support in marble. Tubular steel stem quartz painted. Support in leather, blown glass diffuser (frosted white outside, clear yellow inside). Dimensions: Base: Ø 11.4", H. 61" The main feature of Galerie is the diffuser, which is inspired both aesthetically and functionally by the antique oil lamps from the Belle Époque. Hand-blown in four layers of glass, with the outer and the inner layers being of two different colors, it appears to be as white when turned off, then as amber once lit. It's also equipped with a leather strap that allows the fixture to be hung in different positions along the vertical tubular steem steel structure. In the floor version, the lamp is available for two uses: as a reading floor lamp with one diffuser, to create the ideal atmosphere for reading, and a floor lamp with three diffusers positioned at different heights, for and adjustable and diffuse ambient lighting. "Galerie" collection also includes a wall version. The combination of materials (glass, leather, metal and marble), unprecedented in a lamp, makes the Galerie family particularly rich, elegant and balanced as well. As a contemporary design vision, Galerie expresses the memory of days gone by. Federico Peri was born in 1983 in Montebelluna, near Treviso, North Italy. After completing his degree in interior design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, he moved to Paris on an artist residency grant. During this period, rich in international cross-contamination and stimulation, he began his professional career, studying the great masters and focusing his own interest on the synergy between the historical and the contemporary trends. He returned to Milan to work with Vudafieri Saverino Partners until 2011, when he opened his own studio, working primarily on interiors and furniture. He collaborates with manufacturers, fashion brands, fellow professionals and private clients, designing projects that are strictly tied to the identity of the individual. Nilufar, an international gallery based in Milan, is the exclusive representative of his limited edition products, including the "Shapes" collection of lamps, nominated in 2016 for the German Design Awards.

  • Fontana Arte "Optunia" Floor Lamp Designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune
By Fontana Arte, Claesson Koivisto Rune
    Located in Brooklyn, NY
"Optunia" is a floor lamp, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune and manufactured by Fontana Arte, featuring a structure in cast aluminium, available with paints in white, onyx or glossy black nickel-plated colors. Molded cast glass, frosted and painted from behind, working as a diffuser. Base in painted metal. Power source housed in the base for the wall and ceiling versions, in the breadboard for the hanging version or onto a peg in the table version. It's provided with a dimmer inserted on the electrical cord and lighting sources are two 11W LED (3000K, CRI>80, Lumen 1384 + 1384). "Optunia" is a collection of lighting elements available in four variants for tabletop (with or without stem), floor, wall and ceiling. Its functionality lies in the possibility of rotating the two discs that make up the nearly 360 degrees head, opening up an extraordinary number of lighting combinations. The lower disc rotates on one axis, while the upper disk simultaneously rotates on a second axis, perpendicular to the first. This double movement gives "Optunia" the advantages of both direct and indirect light emission, exploiting the surface of the wall or ceiling to produce a soft light. Complementing its functionality, the design of such lamp is reminiscent of a form found in nature: the two disks resemble the pads of the prickly pear called "Opuntia ficus-indica", from which the lamp takes its name. A collection of exceptional technical sophistication, whose form is further emphasized by its colors: opaque white, bold and clean, dark mirrored chrome, recalling the preciousness of metal, a darker shade resembling onyx and quartz color, shifting from dark brown to black. Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural partnership, founded in Stockholm in 1995 by Marten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune.
