Maison Leleu, Double Torsade, Pair of Two-Armed Sconces, France, 1950s

About the Item

A charming pair of gilt-metal sconces underlain with delicate crisscrossing design reminiscent of script and possessing two symmetrical arms which extend from the fixtures' centers like smoke twisting gently from a flame. Dating from the middle of the 20th century, these pieces nevertheless evoke a more traditional notion of French decoration. Stamped and numbered. Two pairs of sconces are available.
