They was designed with French empire neoclassical patterns, masterfully crafted with parts made up in gilt bronze ormolu and patinated bronze. Mounted in fluted columns pedestals carved from gray dotted Granite, with polished finish. Embellished with garlands and putties mounted in a four square and stepped bases. Ceramic Stoneware "Artifact" Lamp by Keavy Murphree
Located in Nashville, TN
Inspired by architectural details from southern Spain, this ceramic stoneware lamp features hand-sculpted trompe l'oeil tassel detail and hand-carved white stoneware applique flowers inlayed with glass. Finished in light gray satin glaze with brass hardware, coordinating finial, and cloth wrapped power cord. Fabric empire style shade included. This piece is from a collection of work made by the artist in the first half of 2022 for her inaugural solo exhibition titled, "Spring Return." This body of work is inspired by Louis Sullivan’s ornamented architecture, the cultural mashup of southern Spanish architecture, and the colors and natural interpretations of 14th century craftsman and scientist, Bernard Palissy.
