Large Victorian Arch Top Steamer Trunk- Amazing Interior!

At first I thought... Another nice decorative steamer trunk! Then when they opened the trunk up I was blown away. It looks as if it was never used and stored away for a 100 plus years. When buying a trunk the first thing you do is the sniff test. If it smells pass on it... because that never comes out. This chest passed the test. The out side of the trunk is loaded with leather and layers of metal detail. If you look closely at the pictures you will see where the leather was dry from years of storage and split. Thats not wear. We wanted to keep the original look and our guy Daniel spent two days using saddle soap and polish to clean and bring it back. The inside is almost as new and needed nothing. I have never found a trunk interior finished this fine with latched and lined hat and jewelry compartments.Its the best I have seen.
