18th Century George II Mahogany Corner Chair

About the Item

A handsome mid-18th century chair with a moulded curved toprail terminating in carved scrolled arms. Three turned columns support the rail with pierced splats exhibiting ribbons interlacing in-between. The seat is supported by three muscular cabriole legs with fine acanthus carving and ball and claw feet, England, circa 1740. Provenance: Christie's London Sale 6132, Lot 204, 10 June 1999.
