Joe Colombo 'Roll' Armchair for Sormani, Italy, 1964

About the Item

This rare armchair was designed by the iconic Italian designer Joe Colombo and was named the 'Roll' chair. The model was produced by the Italian manufacturer Sormani for a short period of time between 1962 and 1964. The frame is made of burnished metal which gives it a nice matte appearance. The chair retains its original sand/beige fabric which has been preserved very well. The chair is stamped with the Sormani logo underneath the seat. A very hard to find piece in excellent original condition. Literature Reference: Domus No. 421, December 1964, page 120.
