Original and Documented Jugendstil Adolf Loos Chair, 20th Century, 1907

About the Item

Chair from the antechamber of the Rudolf Kraus apartment, brother of Karl Kraus, the famous wordsmith. This Apartment in Vienna 1, Nibelungengasse 13, was presented by Adolf Loos on walking tours, when he has shown his works to the public. Loos has ordered furniture at cabinet makers as Josef Veillich or Friedrich Otto Schmidt, often following inspiring examples from the 18th century. The old fabric-cover has not been restored. The historical Images was made in 1930. Suitable for the US.
