Dom Edizioni
Dom Edizioni produces sophisticated luxury furniture that is typically defined by clean lines and a legacy of Italian craftsmanship but maintains a light and lively Mediterranean feel. The brand's sofas, console tables and sideboards evoke glamorous Milanese restaurant interiors as often as they do the laid-back vibe of sunny Capri, and each piece begs to be placed by an open window or beneath the warm glow that mid-century floor lamps can bring into living rooms.
Dom Edizioni was established in 2006 by Domenico Mula, an art director, decorator and furniture designer. Mula’s life has been centered on design since he was just 20 years old. After working for a range of furniture retailers in France, he decided to create his own line, and Dom Edizioni was born. Mula's commitment to producing elegant pieces, such as its sleek ebony bookcases and plush armchairs upholstered in hunter-green fabric, earned the brand a sterling reputation among discerning private clients and hospitality properties all over the world.
Mula takes pride in the fact that each piece of Dom Edizioni furniture is produced in Italy. The works are created by veteran local artisans who are well-versed in the country's rich furniture-making tradition and have years of experience in their respective fields.
The company strives not only for quality but also for authenticity and strict attention to detail. And while Dom Edizioni’s sculptural chrome-and-ebony Charlotte console tables or Jerome nesting tables in striking satin brass would pair nicely with the low-slung leather couches that typically dotted 1970s-era living rooms, Mula’s company draws on a range of styles for clients to create all kinds of inviting interiors. Collectors will detect the influence of Biedermeier, Art Deco, Empire, Italian modern and even Victorian design in the brand’s offerings.
Dom Edizioni's furnishings can be found in hotels in London, Shanghai, and Asheville, North Carolina, as well as in Paris's Louis Vuitton store, and its meticulously crafted works are on offer at the company’s Milan showroom, an appropriately generous space boasting high ceilings and arched windows.
In 2022, Upscale Living included the manufacturer alongside Foscarini, Cattelan Italia and others in a list of essential luxury Italian furniture brands, noting that Dom Edizioni has found its way into the "cream of the design client crop, including luxury yachts, hotels and the private homes of the super-wealthy."
