Roy Lichtenstein Hand Signed Triptych Print "As I Opened Fire" Stedelijk Museum

About the Item

An iconic triptych set of prints by Pop Art master artist Roy Lichtenstein titled "As I Opened Fire" originally created as an acrylic/oil on canvas in 1964 from his series Comics, Boy. The original painting work is in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. This offset set of three lithographs on heavy-wove paper was first produced by the Stedelijk Museum in 1966. This is one of the few signed sets from the 1966 edition of approximately 3,140 printed by Drukkerij Luii & Co. and published by the Stedelijk Museum. The work is hand-pencil signed in pencil by Lichtenstein in the lower right margin of the third print. Each panel has the correct printed inscription on the verso "edition and color correction / Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam / [copyright symbol] R. Lichtenstein 1964 c/o Beeldrecht Amsterdam / printed in the Nederlands" Would be a great addition to any modern art collection or a fantastic Stand-alone art piece in about any setting once framed. A deep, rich colorful impression. Again, a very rare and scarce hand-signed edition. Lichtenstein's work can be viewed in such prestigious museums as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Tate Museum, The National Gallery of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum Ludwig, the Frankfurt Museum, the National Gallery of Australia, and countless others. In 1995, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts. His various awards include: 1977 Skowhegan Medal for Painting, Skowhegan School, Skowhegan, Maine. 1979 American Academy of Arts and Letters, New York. 1989 American Academy in Rome, Rome, Italy. Artist in residence. 1991 Creative Arts Award in Painting, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts. 1993 Amici de Barcelona, from Mayor Pasqual Maragall, L'Alcalde de Barcelona. 1995 Kyoto Prize, Inamori Foundation, Kyoto, Japan. 1995 National Medal of the Arts, Washington D.C. Dimensions of each panel: 25.25" high, 21" wide.

  • Leonor Fini Signed Framed Beautiful Lithograph Print Deux Femmes, circa 1970s
    By Leonor Fini
    Located in Studio City, CA
A beautiful lithographic print by Argentinian-born Italian surrealist painter, designer, illustrator, and author Leonor Fini titled "Deux Femmes". Leonor Fini was arguably the most ferociously and heroically independent woman artist of the 20th century. Fini herself never accepted the label of "woman artist," and likewise, never considered herself a Surrealist despite her works having been included in nearly every major Surrealism exhibition from 1936 to the present. In the 1930s she lived in Paris, France where she collaborated with, or who were influenced by such prominent 20th-century artists as Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, Leonora Carrington, Salvador Dalí, Joseph Cornell, Dora Maar, Anna Magnani, Albert Camus, Jean Genet...
