A single Turkish wooden door with rustic hand-carved embellishments from the 19th century. This antique door from Turkey has a simple and bucolic feel to it, with hand-carved circular and line patterns lightly decorating its front, along with the original iron hardware and thick nail heads. The door is shorter than a standard door height, as it is approximately 4.75 feet tall. The wood has a lovely old patina, with areas of wood loss and wear, which beautifully showcases its rich history and prior use. As with any of our antique doors, we strongly advise that you consult with your contractor or architect to discuss the necessary measurements and hardware to make this piece work for your project. Antique Italian Painted and Giltwood Cherub Wall Bracket, circa 1850
Located in Dallas, TX
Hand-carved in Italy, circa 1850, this painted and giltwood cherub was designed to be a wall bracket. An angular geometric entablature with several layers of gilded molding provides a stable shelf (known in Italian as a mensola), roughly 20 ¼” W x 11” D. The underside of the shelf has been painted a mottled dark green. A multi-colored corbel sits beneath and is comprised of a winged cherub mascaron flanked by volute scrolls. Both the cherub and the sides of the scrolls have been gilded, with the remaining areas painted dark green.

Hand-carved in bas relief during the 1800’s, this French walnut wood panel is in the Neoclassical style. The fantastic carvings portray the goddess, Athena, standing with a spear in her left hand and a plumed hoplite open-faced helmet on her head. Various weaponry and armory can be seen behind Athena and her two kneeling devotees that flank her. All three are clad in a chiton with a zoster wrapped around their upper torso. The helmet, spear, and clothing are all symbols of Athena and often used to depict her in art.
